Description of duties Job Description The Field Biologist implements the Product Development program within the assigned territory, which includes the Visalia, California area. Responsibilities includes the evaluation of new candidate crop protection technology and development of new label applications for established products. This includes trial programs with key cooperators, university and private, and the constant monitoring of those trials, not only for data, but for insights and innovations. Trial work will be both internal and external. The Field Biologist is expected to perform at a high level of responsibility. It also includes supporting sales personnel within the Region by conducting meetings, tours, and demonstrations, as agreed to by his/her manager (Biology Area Manager).

Qualifications sought Required:
  • MS or PhD in an agricultural science with a general knowledge of Agronomy and Specialty crops.
  • Knowledge and experience in the discipline of plant pathology, entomology and weed science.
  • Working knowledge of the agronomic practices of the area crops.
  • Good leadership, organizational, administrative and people skills.
  • Good communication, problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • The ability to work independently.
  • Professional knowledge of and relationships with area cooperators and key influencers.
Desired:
  • 1-3 years of commercial experience.
