| Description of duties |
Designing, implementing, and maintaining field and controlled-environment experiments; calibration and operation of various nutrient and pesticide application equipment, soil and plant sampling instruments,
and general farm implements (tractors, combines, planters, tillage equipment, etc.); collecting, analyzing, and summarizing qualitative and quantitative data; assist with writing reports and
presenting data at professional meetings; and performing related and unplanned tasks consistent with applied agricultural research.

| Qualifications sought |
Required. B.S. in agriculture or scientific related field; knowledge of modern agricultural production practices and experience with farm equipment operation and maintenance;
initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision; good interpersonal skills; effective verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency in the use of computers,
word processing, spreadsheet, database, and graphics software. Must have (or be eligible to obtain) commercial pesticide applicator’s license and commercial drivers license.
Preferred. 2-4 years
experience in central Great Plains agriculture. M.S. degree in agronomy, weed science, or soil science with knowledge in soil fertility, cropping systems, crop rotations, plant ecology, integrated weed
management, experimental plot techniques, and statistical data analysis.
