Description of duties Product Manager - Nationwide - 1563

Role Purpose -
  • Develops and implements the annual operational and tactical marketing plans for the designated crop(s) under the leadership of the Product Business Manager (PBM). Helps to develop and drive the strategies for the designated crop(s). Maintains current marketing data in system tools (MAPS, PMD).
Accountabilities -
  • Implements tactical marketing support (advertising, promotion, sales sheets, dealer/grower events, trade shows, etc.). Monitors and supports the compliance of sales, trialing, supply chain, etc. with the actions stipulated in the marketing plan.
  • Develops solid information base for product marketing decisions of the crop team, e.g. pricing, positioning, advancement, assortment mgt., promotion & advertizing as well as developing comprehensive sales propositions based on product advantages over competition and benefits for growers & value chain.
  • Actively contributes to the development & continuous up-dates of the respective crop strategies.
  • Develops and implements all aspects of the annual marketing plans for the designated crops.
  • Coordinates with the marketing team (PBMs, Communications, etc) to ensure timely production and delivery of required marketing and communication material as stipulated in the marketing plan.
  • Develops/maintains a competitor and market information database in line with respective guidelines.
  • Identifies marketing trends and anticipates potential threats/opportunities for the designated crops and markets.
  • Liaises closely and effectively with sales, trial officers and breeders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications sought Critical knowledge:
  • Market plan development and strategy development.
  • Product marketing.
  • Understanding of the agricultural business.
Critical experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, horticulture or agronomy.
  • Five plus years marketing experience in agricultural based marketing.
  • Experience in working in a matrix organization.

Physical Demands Of The Essential Functions: May be required to lift up to 40 lbs. Extensive travel required (≥50% of job).

Working Conditions While Performing Essential Functions: Combination of office and fieldwork. Potential contact with allergens - pollen, fungal spores, chemical pesticides in field or greenhouse. Exposure to high and low temperatures, sun, rain, and dust. Significant domestic and potentially international travel required.
