| Description of duties |
Primary responsibilities include research investigating the molecular mechanisms, inheritance, origins, evolution, and spread of glyphosate resistance in weeds of California orchards and vineyards.
The research is part of an integrated research, extension, and education project that focuses on developing and communicating economical and environmentally sound strategies for managing glyphosate-resistant weeds
and preventing their further evolution and spread in agroecosystems providing tree fruits and nuts, and wine, table, and raisin grapes.

| Qualifications sought |
Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree and extensive experience with the basic techniques of molecular genetics, including DNA sequencing, cloning, and molecular marker analyses.
Prior research experience in molecular evolutionary and/or population genetics, herbicide resistance, and agricultural weeds or invasive plants is highly preferred.
