Description of duties Role Purpose -

This role is responsible to lead the tare lab analysis efforts, manage the marketing samples program, support the discipline of the assortment process as it relates to the pipeline and the commercial line-up and maintain customer focused, world class supply.

Accountabilities -
  • Manage the tare lab to meet demand levels and ensure optimum capacity is met.
  • Ensure tare analysis results meet grower payable requirements in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical support driven by sample analysis on how to optimize the conditioning process.
  • Ensure the market is clearly understood by specie and what requirements each market demands so appropriate QA testing is completed in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the Physical Purity Analysis process to ensure that it is conducted in accordance with the Federal Seed Act guidelines and AOSA rules.
  • Coordinate sample flow with internal and external laboratories to ensure quality and timeliness of results are achieved.
  • Coordinate with marketing personnel to gain an understanding of current and future products that will be introduced in new and existing markets and to clearly understand the assortment position.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the product pipeline from which marketing samples are derived, their position in the PLC (Product Life Cycle) process and the positioning of the material as it relates to the assortment discipline.
  • Responsible for the supervision and management of plant technicians.
  • Communicate sample test results and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide technical support and analysis in making quality decisions related to inventory disposition that is in line with Syngenta’s risk management policies, standards, and KPIs.
  • Backup the Quality Lab Lead in issuing Reports of Seed Analysis/Certificates for movement of seed both domestic and internationally.
  • May perform vendor performance evaluations bi-annually and report to SC leadership team results - Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications sought Critical knowledge:
  • Agronomic knowledge on crop production and AOSA Rules with ability to attain CPT rating.
Critical experience:
  • Level I - Typically requires 2-4 years of related experiences.
  • Level II - Typically requires a minimum of 5 years related experience.
  • Level III - Typically requires a minimum of 8 years related experience.

  • Coordinates testing development and enhancements to ensure the leading edge technology is being applied and meets market performance requirements.
  • Manage and report KPIs.
  • Provide technical support in statistics, testing methodology, regulatory requirements, etc. to make business decisions and enhance business processes.

  • Working Conditions While Performing Essential Functions: Environment includes exposure to dust, heat, cold, and seed treatment. Manual dexterity is necessary, work is repetitive in nature, and requires prolonged periods of sitting.
