| Description of duties |
The University of Arizona Cooperative Extension seeks to fill two Area Agricultural Agent positions in Central Arizona, one position will be housed at the Pinal County office in Casa Grande and the other housed at the Maricopa County office in Phoenix.
The positions will develop compatible and complimentary programs. Program expertise will be needed in the areas of integrated pest management (IPM) and crop and soil science (agronomy). Both Area Agent positions will jointly provide educational outreach in
Maricopa, Pinal and Pima Counties. These counties collectively produce 152,000 acres of cotton, 49,000 acres of cereal grains and 117,000 acres of alfalfa.

| Qualifications sought |
- A Master's degree in an Agricultural or Natural Resource related discipline such as Weed Science, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Soil and Water Science, Agronomy, Horticulture, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement productive and innovative problem solving research and outreach educational programs.
- High competency in the subject matter, coupled with people-related skills such as teaching, problem analysis, communications, human relations, and leadership development.
- Desire and capability of working with various and diverse audiences and volunteers
- Candidate should possess self confidence and exhibit a positive view of others and their capabilities.
- The person should be creative
- Excellent time management skills.
- The person must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the three county area (Pima, Pinal, or Maricopa Counties) in Central Arizona.
- The person must be able to perform all activities associated with conducting programs in the field.
- Be proficient in the use and application of computers, software, and communication technology in the subject matter areas.
- The person must have a valid Arizona driver's license at time of employment, provide for their own transportation, and be able to travel statewide using all modes of transportation.
