| Description of duties |
The student will conduct greenhouse/laboratory and applied field-oriented research on integrated strategies for weed control and herbicide resistance management in irrigated cropping systems of the region.
The field research will largely involve weed biology/ecology and evaluation of new herbicides, formulations/adjuvants, timings and combinations to enhance the overall weed control efficiency in irrigated cropping system(s).
The student is expected to prepare a research proposal for thesis, conduct experiments, analyze and interpret data, write annual reports, and present findings at regional/national and grower meetings.
Publication of research findings in peer-reviewed journals will be strongly encouraged.

| Qualifications sought |
Candidate must hold a BS degree in a plant science discipline with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Excellent work ethic, work well with a team, and proficiency in English language (written and oral).
Must be willing to travel/stay and conduct field research during summer months at the Southern Agricultural Research Center,Huntley, MT. Temporary accommodation at/near the research station will be provided.
