| Description of duties |
Working out of Carman, reporting to the Manager, Farm Production Extension Section, the incumbent supports the agricultural industry through development of integrated weed control recommendations for use in farming, industrial, recreational and municipal weed control programs the development and delivery of extension material and training programs for staff, farmers and agricultural chemical dealers and custom applicators. The incumbent will provide advice and support in the administration of legislation relevant to the position. |
| Qualifications sought |
Master of Science in Agronomy or a combination of Bachelor level degree in Agriculture and extensive experience in a related discipline. Experience in developing and implementing programs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Excellent knowledge of weeds and weed management practices relevant to Manitoba. Knowledge of relevant Federal and Provincial legislation in Manitoba. Must be or become a member of The Manitoba Institute of Agrologists with Professional Agrologist designation. |
