The School of Natural Resources and Environment is an interdisciplinary unit housed in IFAS and managed by several colleges on campus. IFAS employs over 3400 people, which includes
approximately 950 faculty and 2450 support personnel located in Gainesville and throughout the state. IFAS, one of the nation’s largest agricultural and natural resources
research and education organizations, is administered by a Senior Vice President and four deans: the Dean of the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, the Dean
for Extension and Director of the Florida Cooperative Extension Service, the Dean for Research and Director of the Florida Agricultural Experiment Station, and the Dean
for the College of Veterinary Medicine. UF/IFAS also engages in cooperative work with Florida A&M University in Tallahassee.

| Description of duties |
This is a 12-month tenure-accruing position that will be 70% extension (Florida Cooperative Extension Service) and 30% research (Florida Agricultural Experiment Station) and, available in the Horticultural Sciences Department,
Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, at the University of Florida. This assignment may change in accordance with the needs of the unit.
Primary extension duties of this position are to design and publish weed management
recommendations for the state of Florida on vegetable crops, deciduous fruits and nut crops grown in the state, develop in-service education for county faculty and design, implement, and deliver weed management education
programs for county faculty, allied agricultural industries, and growers.
The research duties of this position are to plan, perform and publish results of investigations on the management, ecology, and biology of weeds important to these crops.
This position will also act as the principal investigator for the IR-4 North Florida Field Research Center and direct the GLP residue trials carried out at the Center.
Implementation of the Affirmative Action program at UF is required.
Tenure will accrue in the Horticultural Sciences Department.
The faculty member will participate actively in graduate education by chairing graduate committees, serving on graduate committees, supervising thesis and dissertation
research, and publishing the results with his/her graduate students.
The faculty member will seek contract and grant funding actively to support his/her program.
The faculty member will engage in Extension activities in his or her program area.
All IFAS faculty are expected to demonstrate commitment and responsibility to the three functions of the Land Grant mission.

| Qualifications sought |
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in horticulture, agronomy, or a closely related plant science discipline.
Postdoctoral and/or previous extension experience and participation in interdisciplinary research programs are preferred.
Candidates must demonstrate skills in verbal and written communication, interpersonal relationships, and procurement of extramural funding.
Candidates must be supportive of the mission of the Land-Grant system and committed to the IFAS core values of excellence, diversity, global involvement, and accountability.
Compensation is commensurate with the education, experience, and qualifications of the selected applicant.
