| Description of duties |
The student is expected to:
- Prepare a research proposal for thesis or dissertation;
- Conduct experiments as required by the proposed research and maintain the orderliness and cleanliness of work areas;
- Take charge of ordering research and office supplies, help maintain research instruments and equipment, and assist in the maintenance of university vehicle used for research implementation;
- Analyze data and prepare research reports, presentations, and publications;
- Occasionally assist in the preparation of laboratory exercises for weed science courses;
- Assist in other graduate students in conducting activities as needed.

| Qualifications sought |
The candidate must meet the minimum grade requirement (3.0 GPA) for obtaining an assistantship in the Drop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences Dept.; demonstrate excellent academic aptitude; display proficiency in oral and written
English communication; strong motivation to learn, be productive, and succeed; an excellent work ethic; keen sense of focus; and the ability to work with a diverse group of people or independently. |
