| Description of duties |
This program of applied research will center on the development of new weed management technology for bramble crops - raspberries and blackberries.
Bramble acreage is poised to double in Ohio and surrounding states to meet the demand for fresh fruit and anti-cancer treatments. Weed control is one of two major factors limiting expansion.
The planned research will use greenhouse and field experimentation to identify, and develop use patterns for new herbicides that will help growers establish clean bramble plantings and maintain
those plantings over time for long-term profitability. Ancillary studies investigating related aspects of weed biology or herbicide behavior are expected. |
| Qualifications sought |
Applicants should hold a four year BS degree. Experience working with horticultural crops and a strong interest in pest management are desired. |
