Closing date of competition Fall of 2009 or until suitable candidate is found Date position available January 2010 Description of duties The student will conduct research evaluating isothiocyanates and various types of plastic mulch as a means of developing effective alternatives to methyl bromide alternatives. This research will be conducted in tomato and bell pepper. The student must prepare a research proposal, conduct experiments, analyze and interpret data, and write annual reports. The research will mainly focus on yellow and purple nutsedge. Additionally, the student will be expected to work with other students on various research projects.
