| Description of duties |
Pyroxasulfone is a new pre-emergent grass weed active herbicide under worldwide development by Kumiai Chemical Co. Japan. Pyroxasulfone is selective in wheat and corn. This research is to evaluate the potential for weeds to develop resistance to pyroxasulfone and to identify use strategies which minimise the likelihood of resistance evolution. |
| Qualifications sought |
PhD degree. A capacity for high level research in relevant areas such as herbicide biochemistry, resistance mechanisms and population genetics. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of theoretical and applied science relevant to herbicide resistance and weed control. A capacity for research publication and demonstrated sound communication and collaboration skills. |
