Description of duties Role Purpose:

This role is key to ensuring all crop offers within NFC and Prairie & Mountain business units and assigned crop markets provide added value and economic benefit to the grower by actively participating in the design, communication, and implementation of technical crop solutions. This role is key to identifying, communicating, and stewarding positive, measurable technical attributes of our product portfolio for each assigned crop market by providing technical guidance and learning via training, collateral support, complaint handling and new product launches

Accountabilities:
  • Develop and incorporate technical-based crop solutions in crop offers for assigned crop markets and initiate and oversee technical crop solutions for assigned core crops.
  • Coordinate various projects with Technical Support Representatives in the field for NFC and Prairie & Mountain business units.
  • Assign and manage complaint budget and the overall complaint process by providing technical assistance in resolving complaint issues in the field.
  • Recommend tools and coordinate implementation of training and demonstration trails for both existing and new products in assigned geography.
  • Manage grant and sales support budgets to ensure profitability targets/budgets are achieved.
  • Identify and recommend product label expansion opportunities for assigned geography.
  • Monitor product recommendations in the field to ensure product label compliance for assigned geography and interface with Crop Managers to formulate ideas and review technical content for technical literature pieces.
  • Collaborate with R&T to develop and provide technical and competitive information for technical service group.
  • Provide technical contact and support for the value chain.
Qualifications sought Knowledge, experience & capabilities

Critical knowledge:
  • Broad technical knowledge of the company product portfolio and of the assigned crop markets.
  • Must be able to identify changes in the industry from a technology standpoint and make recommendations to minimize the potential impact of competitive biotech and generic products.
  • Extensive knowledge of agronomic practices and crop protection chemicals is required.
  • Have an understanding of Syngenta products, commercial and grower segmentation strategies.
Critical experience:
  • Master's degree in Agriculture or Science.
  • Minimum of 8 years in a scientific discipline.
  • This role prefers demonstrated success in product development and new product launches, as well as experience in working in a changing environment.
Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities:
  • Leadership combined with creativity, problem solving and strong influencing skills.
  • An analytical mind, attention to detail, a desire for thoroughness and interest in technical issues is preferred.
  • Possess the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
