We are passionate about using science and technology to improve agriculture and are seeking a motivated individual at our Regulatory Environmental Sciences Center. In this role the candidate will work closely with plant scientists (agronomists and applied field crops entomologists) and will be responsible for conducting laboratory, greenhouse, and field plant assessment studies necessary to support worldwide registration and commercialization of genetically modified agricultural crops. The candidate will be developing and implementing research approaches for the testing and evaluation of genetically modified crops, which will also include all aspects of the planning, initiation, coordination, data analysis, report preparation, and scientific execution of plant assessment studies. Additionally, the candidate will coordinate the quality of activities, compliance with regulatory requirements, and other supporting activities.
Qualifications sought The successful candidate will possess:
  • PhD. (or comparable) with training in Entomology or a closely related discipline.
  • The ability to set direction and implement complex research programs is desired.
  • Knowledge of plant-insect or plant-disease interactions.
  • Field research experience with agronomic crops.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated writing ability (e.g., publications).
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work productively in multi-functional research teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects under defined processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Word processing and spreadsheet skills.
