Monsanto is an Ag industry leader creating scientific breakthroughs around the world and has an immediate opening within the Ecological Technology Center for an entry or mid-level agricultural scientist/plant ecologist at our headquarters in St. Louis, MO. The successful candidate will conduct laboratory, greenhouse and field plant ecological assessment studies necessary to support worldwide registration, commercialization and monitoring of agricultural products. Focus may include new product concepts and testing of genetically modified crops. Responsibilities will include all aspect of the planning, initiation, coordination, data analysis, report preparation and scientific execution of plant ecological assessment experiments. Responsibilities will also include coordination of quality check activities, compliance with regulatory requirements, and other supporting activities. |
| Qualifications sought |
The candidate should have an M.S. with training in agronomy, crop biology, plant ecology, plant breeding, or a related discipline. The position requires an ability to coordinate multiple projects and have focused attention to detail. Knowledge of crop plant growth and development, plant biology, basic genetics, experimental design and analysis, and field research experience are desired. Word processing and spreadsheet experience are required. Excellent writing, communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work independently are necessary. Experience with good data recording practices or GLP's is desired.
