| Description of duties |
Inventory and map weeds along hiking trails and OHV roads on the Ogden and Salt Lake Ranger Districts of the Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Typical work schedule will consist of 4 consecutive 10-hour days per week. Crew members will camp on location during each weekly work period, and will need to provide their own camping gear. A university vehicle will be provided for on-site use and weekly travel between Logan and the work location. |
| Qualifications sought |
Weed identification, topographic map reading, mountain orienteering, and GPS operation. Must be able to hike at least 50 miles per week alone in mountainous terrain. Must have a valid U.S. driver's license and must meet USU's defensive driving certification requirements. Preference given to applicants 1) with weed inventory and mapping experience, and 2) having completed university courses in plant identification, weed science, plant taxonomy, and ecology. |
