| Description of duties |
Provide technical advice on research plans, experimental designs, sampling procedures and statistical analysis procedures. Conduct statistical analyses that are consistent with experimental designs and research project goals. Interpret analytic results and make recommendations on their evaluation and presentation. Teach faculty, students and staff to use statistical procedures correctly and increase their awareness of the need for proper statistical methodologies. Review reports, publications and other manuscripts for validity, correctness and completeness of statistical design, analysis and reporting. |
| Qualifications sought |
Graduation from an accredited college or university with undergraduate degree in computer science or related field, a graduate degree in statistics or related field, and considerable experience related to this class of work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Thorough knowledge of SAS and other statistical computing software packages; ability to determine appropriate experimental design/statistical analysis combinations; ability to manage research data in popular spreadsheet and database formats; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Must be able to sit at a computer all day, with interval breaks and must be able to stand and bend.
