Description of duties The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty and graduate students in research projects concerning troublesome and invasive weeds in field, non-cropland, and aquatic systems. Research areas include seedbank dynamics, efficacy trials, weed biology/ecology. Experience in conducting field and greenhouse research is required. A willingness to learn new techniques, work independently after appropriate training and develop an interest in the particular research area. The candidate must possess effective written and oral communication skills and have the ability to work effectively as a member of a research team. The candidate must also be willing to adapt to the changing needs of the research project, have the ability to keep orderly lab notebooks and data records, assist with timely preparation of research reports and work with minimal supervision. Opportunities may exist in teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students, depending on interest of the successful candidate.

Qualifications sought M.S. degree in Weed Science, Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Biology or related discipline. Two years of full- time work experience in research closely related to this job description required. Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm for designing, conducting, analyzing, and writing high-quality scientific articles for publication in peer- reviewed journals are required. PhD preferred. Demonstrated success in grant-writing preferred.
